HomePod connecting?

I have 2 Homepods which I put in different rooms this morning when I use them they are both working as speakers but the slider for their sounds to be altered ie the volumes are both greyed out. Is there any reason for this?

Are these now set up as individual speakers? I know you had other threads asking about setting them up as stereo pairs.
What device are you using that shows the volume slider greyed out? I have never seen that before on any device I have used to control any of the 4 HomePods I have.

Yes because when I set them up as Stereo speakers they were doing the same th saying connecting that’s why I changed them back to seperat

It’s a 10x max but they’re upgrading the WiFi so. I think that may be part of the problem
