Same thing applies to iOS devices. And they are generally quite sturdy and long lasting.
Also, if your heart completely and suddenly fails, your body is bricked. But we generally last a long time too :)

In other words: bit of luck involved, but all in all nothing I’d worry about.
Not true... they have pacemakers et al. A heart attack isn't the end for the majority of folks who have them.

All in all, a soldered SSD basically makes the device a throwaway device. Great for Apple. Terrible for consumers.

iOS devices are generally throwaway devices. Always have been. A desktop computer has never been in that category until now.

Heart stops working: cardiac arrest, Heart attack: only parts of heart not working. Pacemaker needs something to pace ;-)

I wouldn’t go as far as throwaway device. If sun it up as an appliance, vast majority of the time just works, and is reused many time until (ideally) then recycled, and made in to new stuff. As long s the last bit stays true, I’m happy :)
