I would get the PS3. It is only a bit more but you get so much more for your money. It can stream stuff from your Mac (iTunes, iPhoto, Aperture, folders) the only thing it won't stream is Apple-protected content. You can also buy movies directly from the PS Store plus it has a browser so you can watch some content online. It also lets you connect a keyboard.
It is also a great Blu-ray player and games machine. It also has a fully removable hard drive so you can put any 2.5" SATA laptop drive in and instantly increase its capacity. It also doesn't look out of place under your TV unlike some games consoles plus the PS3 Slim is very quiet.
The only downside is that it has no wireless N only the slower B/G. It does however come with gigabit ethernet. I was always put off by the price of the PS3 but now with the PS3 Slim you get an amazing machine that can do pretty much anything and can be pretty much the only box under your TV for a much better price. Even if you are not a gamer, I still highly recommend it.
I use Nullriver's MediaLink to connect my iMac and PS3. The only downside being it is $20 which I think is a small price to pay considering what it does. There are free alternatives but this is probably the easiest way.
