Is it reasonable to think new Cinema Displays will appear w/the new Mac Pros?

Again, who knows. There's no rumor about it, just speculation. No one knows what Apple is going to do with the Mac Pro or the ACD's, so until some information is leaked, it's a total void of info.

Of course they'll be updated, but right now there are no rumors, no leaked photos, no buzz, no announcements. Plot a timeline of the ipod leaks, the imac leaks, the iphone leaks, and as soon as there is a leak about the Mac Pro or the ACD, you can probably guess as to when there might be an announcement.

Sure, be logically realistic. See if I care.

It's certainly possible, you might see a refresh to change over to LED displays, but I'm not sure if the 30" are available for that yet, so they may continue to wait. Bearing in mind there is nothing wrong with them at the moment.

One idea has been to include an eye sight into them, as Apple has taken theirs off the market.

Alright, I'm back.. and I just want to ask this..

Is buying a Mac Pro with only mediocre specs(relative to what it could have) worth it? Or could I get a machine with similar capabilities elsewhere perhaps for a lower price?

Basically, would I still be buying a significantly superior machine if I only chose middle of the road specs on the Mac Pro?

Get the Mac Pro but also buy enough RAM from Crucial to make it 4 gb. That's if you are going to be using it professionally.

If you just really wanna play WoW and do occasional design/programming, an iMac would be fine and run it well.

It's really a matter of your budget if you can afford a Mac Pro when you may not really need it compared to an iMac. The middle of the road options on a Mac Pro are still a beast compared to the lame little Dell inspirons people have.

Thanks for the input. At this point my only concern is that I typically buy high end computers and tend to wear them out very quickly. I would really like to buy something this time that will last a pretty long time, and I'm not sure if a computer that doesn't necessarily exceed my current needs would do that.

I'm posting here cause I have the same question. I sold all my PC trash to go Mac Pro. I even sold all my application CS3 master "not universal"

My main use will be Audio/Video editing. So Final Cut Pro 2 will replace what I was using ie "Sound Forge, Acid Pro, Adobe creative suite"

I will be making HD movies for the main usage.

I will need Raid 1 ability for sure and at least 4gig min. I'm still not sure if X1900x2 is real need or wasted money. Which can be used for a middle class HD Video camera either a Sony or Nikon.

A already have two HD monitors built by Sony. So that should be covered. They will play Blueray or HD disk fine.

So what should I wait I look for. Wait for Leapard and the rollout Pro's?
