After all, many of us have a Mac, iPhone and iPad. iCloud has been an elegant solution in keeping all of our contacts and calendars in sync. I know it seems troublesome to bring it up but there could be potential in saying goodbye to our much beloved Gmail, Yahoo, Live accounts in lieu of Apple's ME mail.

Personally, I've been a Gmail user for about 6-7 years, though my Gmail email name resembled my high school years. I was lucky enough to snatch my first and last name with @me.com attached at the end.

The only reason I bring this whole situation up is cause it seems like this could work. My only qualm would be that Apple's ME service definitely isn't up to par with Gmail's spam blockers and little things here and there..however as I recall using MAIL on either my iPhone, iPad or Mac..the truth of the matter is that at the end of the day, all I'm doing is sending out emails.

In no manner do I come here in attempts to persuade others; in fact, just the opposite. I come here wanting to hear other's opinions and thoughts concerning this matter.

Everything else is in sync, why not mail too?

I don't know why anyone would switch from one of the most reliable e-mail services in recent memory to a service that has had problems doing basic functions like "logging in."

iCloud so far is a complete joke.

    I'd Leave It

I have no intention of changing yet, if ever. I'm happy with my present gmail setup. It works......ICloud stuff is new....at least let it settle a while before jumping into it.

iCloud and @me.com email has been working perfectly for me. don't believe everyone you hear on here. most people only come on here when they have a problem, not to tell you how rosy everything is.

    I'm Not Saying

It doesn't work, my upgrades went fine, I'm just happy with my current email setup....Everything is rosy! Had none of the problems during upgrade, despite many devices and mac's to upgrade.

I prefer the wifi backup over iCloud, but you can use both, and I'm going to give it a go with this iPad next time the battery needs charging.

I signed up for Yahoo! Mail when the iPhone launched because they offered free push email for iPhone. Now that Apple has its own free service I haven't had any hesitation switching - if anyone can do iPhone cloud integration right, it's Apple.
