Gave it up two years ago and never looked back. Gained easy hotspot which was/is awesome. Paying about the same for 20gb, and with rollover, generally have 30 to burn through monthly if an emergency arises. Like when I moved. And had no wifi for a month. But just tethered everything. :)

I'm getting ready to drop my ATT GF'd unlimited data plan. I only have the one line and my average data usage is 3gb per month. Not enough to justify the cost. Also tired of paying ATT $20.00 a month for subsidies that are no longer offered. Unbelievable that they leave the subsidy fee on the account even though there are no more subsidies so I am paying for something that no longer exists. Sounds almost criminal.

Or you know just go with Cricket... EXACTLY same coverage as AT&T - actually owned by them.

$70 gives you truly unlimited data. No throttling, no overages, no taxes. $70 is what you pay monthly. How's that for size?

I cancelled my Verizon plan with grandfathered unlimited data
450 min talk
No texts

I think my average was less than 3gb per month. But I'm looking at other options now. It would be nice to have mobile hotspot included free.

I cancelled it coz I was going out of the country for 2 years and Verizon refused to suspend my service without billing.

I'm coming back this month and I'm looking at options for a new plan with one of the big 4 wireless companies. Any recommendations on a good affordable plan that offers a decent amount of data. I'm eyeing sprint and T-Mobile.

Seems like a good deal but Cricket is always throttled. 4 Mbps on 3G and 8 Mbps on LTE

No way. Keeping it. Used like 28 gb last month. Listen to a lot of YouTube while traveling.

Nope, not giving it up.

I keep my UDPs as long as I can. I like that the majority of people here drop their plans, it will be less pressure on us, guys. May be finally Att sees that people go to the lower plans and try to give us something,,,, wait it never happens. :)

I gave up my grandfathered data about 2 months ago also. We have 2 smartphone lines and a dummy line that I used for subsidized/staggering upgrades. That line's contract is up in January. I'll drop it as soon as I can. I got the new unlimited plan and since I have DirecTV it's even cheaper :)

I got rid of my grandfathered unlimited plan... for the new unlimited plan. My brother and his wife have been on my account for a while since I get a larger employer discount. When they announced the new unlimited plan if you have Direct TV, we just switched to his address as the primary and then we qualified since he was already a Direct TV subscriber. So now all 5 lines on my account have unlimited and we're paying less than before. Downside is no tethering options.
My parents did the same thing. At first I advised against it because the old plan didn't require them to keep DirecTV or any other derive and this plan was still new so I wasn't sure if it would last. It was unfamiliar.

But after doing the math, I realized it would have saved them money by switching to that plan even if they had to continue paying for DirecTV without using it, as well as finally being able to add my sister to their plan since they're allowed 10 lines now instead of 5.

I'm glad they did, too, because I figured I'd go ahead and get a second unlimited line with AT&T to complement my Verizon unlimited data service. I got a tablet line instead. Same price, but tethering is included for some reason.

I was one who stayed w unlimited for so long and didn't take advantage of the family plans that were cheaper and met my needs as I wasn't using crazy amount of data. Finally gave it up to get unlimited on 5 phones via Uverse. Saving over $100 and couldn't be happier.

You can try to ask AT&T retentions for the following:

$29.99 Nation 300mins w/ rollover
$10.00 Unlimited texts
$35.00 Unlimited data plan

That should help bring down the cost. My reasoning for keeping the UDP, in the long run, I'd be using more and more data so better to have peace of mind with UDP.

I've thought about dropping my unlimited data. I average 3-5gb per month. And I wouldn't be saving a ton. I think it would be 10-20 a month. For a 5gb plan. I'm the only phone on the account. For now I'll keep my unlimited.

Tell me if this is a bad decision:

Paying $167.xx for 3 lines. (After 24% discount that applies only to some parts of the bill)
Line 1: Unlimited Data
Line 2: 3GB Datapro with $7.99 insurance
Line 3: Dummy line I used for 2 year upgrade subsidizations

If I switch to a mobile share plan with 25GB, it'll be $83.xx (24% discount) + $20 access charge x2 + $7.99 insurance x1. Naturally I'd drop the dummy line since it's worthless now. I'd be paying approximately $130 instead of $160.

Is my calculation off anywhere? I'd gain tethering on my own phone with the same amount of data. After 22GB I'd get throttled anyways on unlimited or on mobile share.
why drop it when you can sell it first then get a new plan

Here's my dilemma, although i feel like it is a no brainer, I was on the phone with att for several minutes today... first off here is my initial info,
700 minutes rollover
#1 unlimited data
#2 unlimited
#3 2GB of data
Family text unlimited
$180 after 25% fan discount
total data usage ranges from 40gbs to 52gbs
with the last few months Ive had some overages, totaling some months over $120 a month

anyways after much haggling w/ att who i have been with for quite sometime, to up the data package for the 3rd line, i have gotten these offers, 60gb unlimited talk and text for $213 after discount not including tax or unlimited everything 3 lines for $180month, this however would require me to get directtv package for another $40 a month putting me at $220 I'm not sure if my fan discount is applied to this plan still puts me $220 a month, ill enroll in combined billing to drop it to $210 a month
now the freebies i know some may not believe but here it goes
free airpods
$100 off the iPhone 7 x3
free otter boxes for each iPhone 7

and whatever other promotions will come w/ the new directv line, i 100% do not intend to use the Directtv service, will run the line to the garage

let me know what you guys think.... anything else i should ask for? if this doesn't work I'm headed to t mobile!
and the above has already been offered, just read about getting more added to my fan discount, i think a even 30% sounds good :D
