Hmm honestly I might load Yosemite on it and see how it runs with the 3gb of ram and the original HDD.
I've been using my second Windows PC a lot lately, and that thing runs Windows 8.1 pretty well with only 2gb of ram and the stock HDD. Plus that thing is about 2 years older than the Macbook.

So also does anyone have any recommendations for 60-80gb SSDs?
Preferably something that's under $70.
Also what is the newest version of Windows that is supported on this Macbook?

Exactly what I did. I got it in the mail and put Yosemite Public Beta on it with the stock 120GB HDD and 2GB RAM. It actually ran surprisingly well.

Here's the SSD I got for mine, it's pretty cost effective at $59 for 128GB.

As far as BootCamp. Officially, Windows 7 X86. But It's easy to install X64 Windows 7 with admin account and Apple's drivers.

Unofficially, Windows 8.1. Did it on my '08 that was similar to this guy as far as the hardware and chipset goes. Though I had to find each driver individually, and it was rather tedious. I'd just go with Windows 7 though, I prefer it and it's already got support for it.

Well I got a notification that the Macbook is coming within the next couple of hours.
I'm pretty dang excited for this, as I've been needing a laptop for a while now.

I've been on the fence about doing the same thing you are. Thanks for the inspiration to do it finally! My laptop died on me a while ago and have been wanting to try a mac for a while, so figured this would be a great entry into them. Keep us updated!

Well the macbook finally came!
So far it's working pretty well. I upped the ram to 3gb and upgraded to Yosemite.
The battery is the original one and it lasts about 1.5 hours, so I'm considering buying a new battery for it.

Congrats!

You should be able to get a new 3rd party batter for $50-75. Be sure to get one with any needed special screwdrivers. On the 2010 Whitebooks the battery is held in by 3 #00 Phillips screws and 3 of the triwing security screws. While many folks may have the small Philips screwdrivers, very few would have a small triwing screwdriver.

Only "tool" you'll need is a coin. Lol. Easily removable.

I'd check out either an Anker battery or one from OWC if you want a decent quality one with a good warranty. Otherwise there are cheaper alternatives, but they usually don't last long or are defective. Been down that road.

I just can't wait for Yosemite to be more stable, then, maybe, it'll pull me off Snow Leopard. Though I'll probably keep it on it's own partition anyway.

Yeah yosemite is a bit slow but hopefully an SSD would help.
