    Howdy Folks,

I'm missing my portability (both for just moving around the home/office, and the occasional on site use). Love the MM, it's quiet, fast, nice and compact, and while it's easily moved, managing a Mouse, KB, display is a little clunky.

So I'm looking to get a rMBP, probably a year old but "new" (want 3 years of warranty, i.e., base+AC), and wanted to get a handle on how much I'm going to need to spend after I sell the MM.

    The machine:

    '12 QC 2.3 i7 [server, has 2x drive mounts/cables]
    1TB OEM HDD (upper)
    512GB SSD (Crucial MX100, bottom)
    16GB RAM (1600 MHz)

It's mint, probably don't need to explain to this audience the particulars of the '12 Minis, but in short: HD4000 graphics (1024MB allocated), USB 3.0 (x4), TB and HDMI (currently running 2x 24" 1080P displays).

This was a refurb so it still has base warranty till the end of Jan '16, that also means you can buy Apple Care up till then giving this machine warranty through Jan '18.

I went with a rigged out MacBook Air and never looked back. MBP's have always been to clunky for my taste. The MBA has performed every task I have thrown at it. (web/print designer)

I'm pretty set on a MBP (already owned a 15" 2011 model), definitely want to stick with a quad core (like my previous MBP and current Mini). Outside of general use like mail/web, personal video/photo type cores, I do some reasonably heavy lifting (dev with lots of concurrent services/VMs).

Just trying to get a sense of my MM's value so I can plan the MBP purchase :)
