Been using a Note 2 and now a Note 3 for the past couple of years. I will definitely consider the 5.5 inch iPhone (mainly I just want a good camera and the Note cameras are awful), though I am wondering:

I tether all the time with my Note3. Does anyone know if you can tether with iOS? I am on Verizon.

Thanks.

Of course you can tether but you'll have to pay for it. I'm on tmobile prepaid and 5gig of tethering is available(and included) in the $80 plan. More if you're jailbroken and have the right app.

Been able to tether for free since iOS 4.3.3. I guess that is one thing Canada does better than U.S.A :)

I have unlimited data with Verizon and tether with my Note3 and FoxFi. I want to be able to continue tethering unlimited data if I switch back to iPhone. Is that possible?

You will need a jailbroken iPhone and a tethering app to have "unlimited" tethering.

Can you recommend a tethering app for a jail broken iPhone?

Thanks.

Tethering is included in most UK carriers packages now. I know on O2 I can tether and it costs no extra. They couldn't really charge any more with it being a pretty standard demand on a mobile device these days.

I have a contract with EE which include tethering and use it all the time. I was on holiday with my son and family recently and bought a local SIM with 2GB data but no tethering on my iphone. I was quite surprised when my son said that his Android phone never blocks tethering took the SIM from my Iphone put it in his phone and was tethering with no problem.

Notes camera is awful? Odd. It has a great camera.

I'm on three and it's unlimited to tether.

I'm on VZW and your mobile hotspot (tethering) is part of my package. Its easily set up on the iPhone and it works like a charm.

Hi The Game 161,

Without absolute perfect lighting, the Note3 photos/videos are soft and fuzzy (regardless of the specs on paper). This is discussed countless times on the Android forums also. I take tons of photos and videos and just went back through my collection in Lightroom from the past 7 months, and sadly, they are awful. Since my phone is with me so much, I am willing to go back to iPhone just for the camera though unlimited tethering is also a requirement. The Note3 is an amazing phone otherwise.

maflynn,

Have you used unlimited data tethering with the iPhone?

Thanks everyone for the replies!
