Carrier Considering switching from AT&T to Verizon

Question, does Verizon still offer BYOD/no contract discounts (new signup)? Also, aside from EDGE and an introductory 0% APR credit card, what options do I have for 0% interest financing on 4x iPhones (6-12 months)? We currently have 4 iPhones on AT&T 10GB postpaid and 3 iPads on individual Verizon month-to-month plans and I'd like to consolidate them all on a 30-40GB plan promo. However, we don't want to upgrade phones frequently so I'd like to make sure I can "grandfather-in" to BYOD discounts.

This part is of particular concern to me:

Minimum Contract Term
Each line requires a month-to-month or two-year contract.

Activation/Upgrade Fees
Activation Fee: $35 per line.
Upgrade Fee: $30 per device when upgrading to a new device.

Early Termination Fees
The early termination fee is up to $175, or up to $350 if your contract term results from your purchase of an advanced device (e.g., a smartphone or netbook).

If you’re activating a Data-Only Plan or you’re on a month-to-month term, you are not eligible for monthly access fee discounts.

Verizon doesn't do any BYOD discounts. They only give you a discount if you buy a phone on Edge and only for the duration of you making payments on the phone.

i have att and they suck but ive heard verizon does too. its all about coverage.

I've heard people say you can add the discount to your account manually. Supposed to be an option under features or something

More Savings Coming for Verizon Wireless Customers Beginning April 17
New or existing customers who move to MORE Everything take advantage of monthly line access discounts.

No contract. No problem. Verizon Wireless is giving customers the ability to add a smartphone that is not currently under contract to a MORE Everything plan, beginning April 17.

Starting this Thursday, existing customers who are on month-to-month contracts can move to a MORE Everything plan to experience savings immediately. Customers who choose plans with data allowances of 8 GB or below can add a smartphone for $30, a savings of $10, and customers who choose plans with data allowances of 10 GB and above can add a smartphone for $15, a savings of $25.

Also available on April 17, new customers who want to experience the nation’s largest and most reliable network can add any smartphone they already own to a MORE Everything plan for either $30 or $15 depending on the data allowance they choose. When a customer brings his or her own smartphone, it must be compatible with the Verizon Wireless network.

These monthly access prices are also available to customers who choose Verizon Edge when purchasing or upgrading to a new smartphone. So, customers who choose a MORE Everything plan with 10 GB of data and four smartphones, either on Edge, moved from month-to-month contracts, or brought to the Verizon Wireless network, will pay $160 month for service and access.

To take advantage of this value, which is available for a limited time, customers can log in to My Verizon to add these devices and update their plans. They can also visit a store or call Verizon Wireless to make the change and to ensure they are on the right MORE Everything plan for their mobile lifestyle.

MORE Everything plans include unlimited talk and text, unlimited international messaging, 25 GB of cloud storage per line, and three months free of the International Long Distance Value Plan and FamilyBase service.

Verizon Wireless was the first wireless provider to introduce shareable data, and customers can have up to 10 devices on a MORE Everything plan. Currently, customers who want to activate a tablet and add it to a MORE Everything plan of 1 GB or higher will receive an additional 1 GB of shareable bonus data for as long as that tablet remains on the plan. Tablets can be added to the plan for $10 monthly access.

I switched from ATT to Verizon with three phones on 10 gig shared 3 days ago. What they told me that I will get $25 discount on each phone because I paid full price at apple store. I didn't see the bill yet. But I will pay activation fee.

You have always been able to get the discount if you are not under contract. You just had to have it added as a feature as stated earlier.

The problem with Verizon is it treats BYOD discounts like a red-headed stepchild. There are a lot of Verizon CSRs who don't know about the discount. It's like you need to know the secret handshake to get it added to your account.

1. How can I get the discount on the monthly line access of The MORE Everything Plan?
   
   Customers who participate in Verizon Edge may qualify for a discount on the monthly line access charge.
   
   You’ll receive $10 off the monthly line access charge if you meet both of the following requirements:
   • You have a smartphone with Verizon Edge
   • Your data allowance is 250 MB, 500 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB, 3 GB, 4 GB, 6 GB or 8 GB
   
   You’ll receive $25 off the monthly line access charge if you meet both of the following requirements:
