Hello. I have a 2010 MBP (i7 17"). It came with an express card slot. I plan to buy an external HD to store/retrieve large files under Windows Vista 64-bit. Has anybody tried? Does USB 3.0 drive works under Windows (bootcamp and vmware fusion)? Should I get an eSATA or Firewire 800 drive instead? I know that USB 3.0 is not supported under Mac OS/X yet. Thanks.

Perhaps. I don't think there is support for USB 3.0 just yet for USB 2.0 ports.

Albeit at slower speeds.

So, I guess USB 3.0 and eSATA are possible on the 2010 MBP 17" (at least under Windows) except that there is a bottleneck caused by the express card. Thanks for pointing this out. Actually, for the MBP I have, which is the fastest interface under Mac OS X and Windows? Thanks.
