I didn't realize you were moving around with your 17, makes sense now. My Air goes with me, the 17" stays mostly in my home office.

Just bought a refurb 11", gonna give it another go...

I would just keep both machines and wait till the imac breaks. No use in getting rid of it just for a huge monitor as it will be almost as having the same exact set-up.
