Constant SMC reset needed?!? :(

I have a brand spanking new MacBook Pro and it requires about weekly SMC resets. Why?!
If the thing was in good working order when they sold it to me I shouldn't need to reset that SMC because the dam fan speeds up and won't turn off...for no apparent reason. Any thoughts people? Thank you.

if it's brand new, take it back. obviously there is a hardware manufacturing defect.

Are you sure that there isn't some process that's running at a high percentage of CPU time and causing the fans to run at high speed? Have you opened Activity Monitor and looked at "all processes?"
