Hello,

I have been using Leopard since the day it came out, and was happy with it for a while. However, since about a month after I got it, it was being very slow (constant beachballs), so slow that I was fed up and did an Erase and Install. I continued running it with all my reinstalled apps, and it ran for another few months, until it started freezing again. I got fed up with it, and did ANOTHER Erase and Install, about a week ago, and it worked for A DAY! Now, it is STILL giving me constant spinning beachballs and temporary freezes in iTunes, iPhoto and Finder, as well as Safari (when on YouTube). In iTunes, just double-clicking on a song will initiate a 10-second long beachball freeze, after which the song will play. My iTunes library is not very large (4 gigs or so) and never did this under Tiger. In Finder, just emptying the trash will sometime cause a temporary lockup.

After THREE total Leopard Erase and Installs (including my replacement of Tiger), this seems like unusual behavior. Why would the problems remain after a complete reinstall? I use the same Leopard discs with my mother's MacBook Pro, and she has a HUGE iTunes library, and has never had any issues. I've repaired disks and disk permissions to no avail. Any suggestions, or am I in for another reinstall? My specs are below...

MacBook Pro 15.4" with Samsung external monitor
2.2Ghz Intel C2D with 2gb RAM
nVidia GeForce 8600GT with 128mb VRAM
AcomData 160GB FW400 drive
Echo Audio AUDIOFIRE 12

Thanks
