Contact name and posters not working between iPhones using same iOS versions

after ios 18 it appears contact name and posters don’t work correctly between iOS devices using same iOS revision 26.5.2 iPhone 17 pro max. Sometimes the avatar will work but generally never the poster appears just a blank screen with their name. I’ve tried many setting changes etc between myself and and partners iPhone to no avail. Any tips ? Thanks 🙏🏼

Did you all set to share the contract name and pictures? Did you add it manually, through namedrop , or via a contact card?

Yes we both emulated the same settings on our corresponding iPhones to match. We both chose and created our own avatar and poster via contact settings, changed the color of the font for name etc. what’s weird is that before in iOS 18 when one created an avatar and poster then checked the check mark it would animate a quick video or image of what others would see. Now it doesn’t even do this anymore.

No way that can’t be it. I even have other contacts who ain’t update to 26.6 or anything newer like iOS 27 beta, and their contact posters update accordingly.

No. I have over 1TB on the iCloud left.

Do you guys remember when you created a contact poster it would give you an animated preview ? Mine doesn’t do this anymore.
