It's been like this for hours. I had no trouble updating with my iPhone. Any insights?

millions of iOS devices are hammering the software servers. patience is needed. its taken me almost 45 minutes to talk to the software servers to validate my iOS upgrade for my iPad 1. I expect it to take just as long if not longer with my iPhone and iPad 2...
