    Running iOS 7.0.6 and OS X 10.9.1.

When i add a contact on my phone, it doesn't sync to iCloud and therefore not the mac either.

When i add a contact on the mac or on iCloud's website, it syncs fine everywhere.

It's only from the iPhone to iCloud that the problem is.

    Any ideas?

Do i just turn the contacts toggle on and off in iCloud settings or do i need to remove the iCloud account altogether and re-add it?

    Thanks for any help!

On the iPhone, Turn off contacts in iCloud, Power off the phone and then power it back on. Turn contact syncing back on. This should fix the issue. The power cycle step may not be needed, but it can't hurt.

    tried that, no luck :(

i don't get it, it seems to be with contact only, everything else syncs from the phone to icloud properly.

also, the groups are duplicated for some reason.

i don't want to delete the contacts on my phone, since they're not backed up.

should i try a restore or something?

I've messed with my contacts too somehow. Got an iCloud account, an O365, a Gmal and a Google Apps account in my phone. For some reason all the recent contacts (cant make out how recent) are not stored in iCloud and if i turn off the Google Apps sync, most of the contacts do not appear any more in the phone. I found out this problem when i tried to access my contacts from icloud.com and most were not there.
Is there some way to transfer all my contacts to one place without mistakes?

Hi everyone, I tried the latter solution but in my iPhone settings > Contacts > there is no "DEFAULT CONTACT". How can I solve for that? Thank you!

For me turning iCloud contacts off, restart and then on in both devices together with importing my contacts again from SIM to iCloud and Gmail or any other service worked for me. Also iCloud has to be set as default account for contacts in all devices.

Hello All. I just wanted to throw tuppence worth in here. I had the issue as described but it was affecting only my newest contacts added via my iPhone. Everything else worked (e.g. if I entered a contact on my MacBook). I had a Genius appointment in the end and, fair play to the guy, it was cracked v. quickly. It turns out, upon setting up a new work Exchange account, this had nabbed the default syncing option on my iPhone contacts; hence they were invisibly syncing with my Exchange contacts and not appearing on other iCloud devices. Said Genius changed the options in the menu and said it would eventually sync over again. That didn't happen. So, as an added step I found this natty contacts merge app: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/contact-mover-account-sync/id582605968?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo=8 and it's worked a bloomin' treat. Hopefully this assists someone with a similar issue / makes you think to check if that is your issue. L.
