Contacts Not Syncing

Just got the Apple Watch. Still trying to figure out its uses. But a couple of issues: The watch says I have no favourites. Not true, they're in my phone but not in the watch. On my friends list there are no contact photos. There are photos on the phone. On the watch my contacts only go to G. On my phone contacts go all the way to Z.

Any ideas?

I had this once. Make a soft reset on both the phone and the watch. It should sync properly then.
