So I bought my 16gig today at the store. I had the original iPhone for about a year. When I did the purchase the Apple guy opened the box and activated the phone, this almost instantly de-activated my original iPhone.

I was told that when I got home that the first time I were to put the iPhone 3G plugged into itunes, that itunes would ask me if I wanted to restore all previous data onto the new iPhone.

This never happened and all my contacts are still currently on the original iPhone but nothing on the new one.

Note: I did not have any address book on my PC.

It sounds like you never synced your contacts, therefore they were never backed up and will never get onto your new iPhone. You've got to sync your old iPhone and enable the contacts checkbox but be prepared as the only two options at this point are to overwrite your iPhone with your PC or merge. I'd suggest backing up your PC and then clearing all your contacts out of Outlook (express) and then allow iTunes to merge.

Edit: I have no idea if you can even sync your old iPhone now that it's not active. Good luck

Thanks, but how do I take the numbers on my phone and put them on itunes?
Everytime I try to Sync it syncs everything but the contacts.
