Look up how to get into DFU on Google
Plug device into computer
Open iTunes and wait for prompt
Hit restore and wait for it to finish

Because that didn't appear so at first!
All indications were that is was solid, later on it was found that many users have loop problems.

I'm sure a quick update is in the works

If you made a backup yes ofcourse only for 7.04 though.

I was wondering more of whether DFU mode allows for data to be recovered in general. I had nothing on the iPad so I did not lose any information, however if I did have some I was wondering whether it would be possible to get the data? *More incentive to back up more often*
