Hei guys.
I recently arrived to Scotland to study and I have never bought phone with contract, so how exactly does this work. If I buy new iPhone with contract can I use different carriers or I can use only the one I buy iPhone with. Because I will go back home during winter and summer holidays and would like to use my Latvian SIM.

Thank you.

When you buy the phone on contract with one of the three major carriers (AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint), you can get a subsidized ($200 for 16 GB, 300 for 32...) price when you sign a two year contract. Once you buy your phone with a two year contract, it's locked into its American carrier. However, if you buy a Verizon iPhone, it appears to be unlocked for international use. I'm not all that helpful, but that's what I understand.

Um...he's in Scotland. I don't think Verizon and AT&T are going to help. We'll wait for our UK members to chime in..

Ok, but does any of UK carriers allow to use different sims?
