I had some extra cash in my Paypal account so I contributed yesterday to thank you guys for all the hard work. My question is what happens now. The 'check the private forums' afterward is sort of vague.

It may take a day for your "Demi God" or "Goddess" status to show up.

You should be abe to see posts in the Private Talk forum...

You will likely also have to log out and log back in - not just quit Safari, but log out, at least if you have it set to "save" you when you come back.

Logged out and back in but I still can't see any of the Private forums.

In that case, since it sounds like it's been a day since your contribution, I'd PM a moderator and ask them about it.

I think the delay is so that the mods can clean out all of the mentions of your name the threads in the private forums that the contributors use to mock us normal users.

You're better off PM'ing them. No need to continue this as a public discussion. That being said, I doubt it matters whose account it was, as long as you had access to the funds.

Your account should be upgraded automatically. If not, you can email me webmaster@macrumors.com with the email address that you contributed with (and your username) and I can activate you manually.

it's a BYOA (bring your own avatar) but it can flame up if you want it to i obviously went for that idea (at least at the time this is being posted)
