Control center question

i Didn’t realise the WiFi & Bluetooth switches in control center doesn’t actually turn it off? It just disconnects from the WiFi router/Bluetooth device..

Am I missing something? I would of thought it would complete switch it off...

You are not missing anything. Apple feels your best experience is with wifi and bluetooth on, so control center just temporarily disconnects you.
