This might have been brought up before so if it was I apologize. Anyways I wanted to know if you can use the apple watch to control the iPhone settings example, enable airplane mode, do not disturb, turn on/off wifi, turn on/off personal hotspot etc.

Apple hasn't said anything official about features such as those. Some information about feature menus, etc., has leaked, but I don't recall anything addressing those particular issues. Possibly there's a relevant leak I've missed.

Those would indeed be useful features for the Watch, though. I hope the answer on most or all of the points you raise is "yes."

This would actually be pretty cool, even if it was just the control center options (eg. airplane mode, DnD, etc).
