I have a Laptop with iTunes connected to the stereo, it's been hooked up to the wi-fi so far and I used iPads as remote for iTunes, I'd like to hook the laptop up to the LAN via powerliine, but then it disappears from my Remote App on the iPads, is there any way that I can keep using the Remote App with it?

You need to make sure all devices are on same network segment. Meaning their IP addresses start with same numbers.
If that's the case, then one must wonder if the powerline adapters don't block broadcast messages Bonjour sends for host & service discovery.

I had to discover this I'm quite stupid ;) - I had the powerline adapter connected to an Ethernet port on the providers router/modem while I have a Cisco router hooked up to that modem as it has far better wifi coverage, so I connected the powerline to the Cisco router and everything works great! Thanks for putting me on the right track there!!
