Controlling App in OSX 10.6.8 App via Terminal Commands

    I would like to control/interact with dialog windows that come up during a running application such as

    check this box if x,y or z (how do I check the box using Terminal)

    click [accepet] if a (how do i click buttons from Terminal)

    enter text (how do i enter text into a field)

    thanx in advance for patience with a newbie

    Newbie or not, this is obviously the wrong forum to be asking this…

    If you took a second to look at the board, there's a programming forum:

    I'm not even sure you can interact with GUI elements from the Terminal via a shell script. Probably with Applescript.
