so, my 4gen ipod bit the dust, and best buy said they will probabaly replace it with a 5g30 gig.

however, i have the option of only paying 100$ for the 60. should i do it? i'm thinking about it right now, but unsure

the 60 is a bit thicker and has a longer battery life

Both the 30 and the 60 will last you the same time, so its a matter of whether you need the space and the few hours more battery life.

If it were me, i would probably save the 100 for a gen 7/8 iPod and get the 30.

I paid my insurance company £93 difference to go from a 30 Gig to 60 Gig replacement 5th Gen iPod (retail difference is actually only £80). However, I decided it was worth it because I intend to use this iPod for video quite a lot. The difference in battery life on the larger model makes a huge difference in allowing you to watch more than 2 hours of video in one sitting
