Ok, I might be going crazy. I have noticed since I started with iOS 14 public beta 6 that conversations in my iMessages are disappearing. I will get group texts that I have been in for a long time that have activity at least weekly and they are just gone. When someone sends a new message it shows up and then it shows that that person added everyone in that group right after the message. I am certain I am not deleting these conversations and it's not happening to all conversations. I have messages set to keep forever. I use an iPad Air 2 (iPadOS 14), iPhone 11 (iOS 14), a Macbook Pro (MacOS 10.15.6), and an Apple Watch (WatchOS 6.2.8) all using Messages in the Cloud (except the watch obviously).

Any idea what might be going on? Is this a new feature or a bug I should report?

Hmmm... I’ve had the problem of my pinned conversations not syncing and randomly becoming unpinned, but I haven’t experienced any problems with conversations deleting themselves.

Definitely report this to Apple. Have you tried all the usual things? Restarting, turning iCloud Messages off and on again, etc. Also, are the group conversations all iMessage chats? Or is it happening with MMS group chats too?

Yep, tried all that. It’s just iMessage chats. Some individual and some group. I’m actually not in any group chats with SMS people, they are all iMessage. I’ve Googled this every way I know how and haven’t found anyone else with this issue, so it’s got to be something on my end. It’s just SUPER odd. I’ll report it and maybe they can pull logs and see what’s going on.

Hmmmm..... it could be a syncing issue between macOS and the other devices, as it’s not on the beta. It’s definitely a beta bug, though, so hopefully it’ll be sorted out soon enough. If it really bothers you, you can also downgrade to a previous backup, if you have one.

Im having the same issues. It just happened around 1:00 today. Last backup was yesterday at 7:30pm I have lost important text messages and wonder if anyone has found a solution to this.

It stopped happening but it wasn’t because of anything I did that I know of.
