I wore them through the 80's & 90's in London and felt relatively unique (this was when the whole mouded pastic trainer in incresingly convoluted forms thing was taking place). Now the bloody things are everywhere!

I can't stand it when people give people labels for the shoes they wear.

Indeed, but I think everyone does it to a certain extent. You should wear whatever makes you comfortable and sometimes (or a lot of times, for some people), being comfortable means conforming; which is a shame.

I don't have any converse but they don't seem that comfortable. Especially the high top ones. They're so high and flimsy. it's like a sock? I would hate lacin' them up everytime.

I like the way Converses look but I don't think they're all that comfy.

Ditto here. Mind have flames on them as well... as if they needed to look any cooler.

They are much like a sock, you feel every stone on the road and such likes that. Not bad for a night out, but wouldn't like to wear them everyday. Have my big skate trainers for that. Swear by those.

I don't have any right now but a few years ago they were all i'd wear. I had pink high tops, then purple, black/gray/white, and then i stopped wearing them. I'm thinking about picking some again, those are sweet shoes :)

I just saw these the other day, they're so hot.

I like the simple colors like black, grey, brownish color. There are a pair at Urban Outfitters that look all cut up and I think are slip on that are pretty nice.

Sad to think that these shoes are being made by people under horrible conditions and that they'd have to make roughly 10,000 pairs of these shoes before they earn the money sufficient enough to buy one pair.

I wear them pretty much all the time.

Currently I'm on a plain purple pair, there must be a dozen or so different kinds kicking around the house.

Holy Thread Ressurection Batman!

I have an old pair of lowtop "Chucks" that I bought about 20 years ago. They still fit and are in good shape. I don't wear them often, but I do still enjoy them.

We just bought my son these. He really likes them. :)

Converse

I personally have quite a few pairs of converse, and I love them. They are extremely comfortable when you're walking around, and I'm never in pain when I take them off. Another benefit of them (if you have the black and white ones that is) is that they go with everything for the most part. They are easy to slip on when you have to run out and do an errand. I think a lot of people like to wear them because they've come back into fashion. Both girls and guys can wear them, which makes them unique compared to other shoes. They hold up for a pretty long time, unless you wear them in the snow, I've had mine for a couple of years now, and they're still in great condition. I would definitely recommend Converse, they are worth the little extra you might pay in comparison to other brands.
