I'm Using my Canon Vixia HF R11 before I return it for something more compatible with my Macbook Pro, I finally was able to import my videos to iMovie by concerting it on Handbrake and then on Bigasoft Total video converter. I don't know what it was, maybe the software i used or maybe the number of times I converted the files, but the video quality of my movies were TERRIBLE. Please help, thanks

OK. Why are you going all around Job's barn? The Canon VIXIA HF R11 is supported by Canon under MacOS X through at least MacOS X 10.6. The fact that you are able to convert the video files in Handbrake means you should be able to convert the video files to AIC (Apple Intermediate Codec). AIC is the format that you want for editing your video.

You just copy the complete file structure from you camera/card to your desktop and let iMovie do its thing. Easy as cake. No third party software needed.

im dumb

just realized how dumb I am, honestly looking back I have no idea why i ran my clips through so many different conversion softwares. I literally just import the videos from my camera straight to iMovie. sorry so much for wasting all your time and energy. HAPPY NEW YEARS

I don't want to sound arrogant, cynical or sarcastic, but sometimes it helps to read a manual.
You find the iMovie manual in the Help menu.
