Convert 1080 to iPad?

Been dong a lot of test HB encodes. So far for the best picture/sound iPad quality from a HD source here is the best settings I found. First start by selecting the High Profile preset then make changes.

Constant Quality adjust how much compression (data reduction) to add. The lower the number the less (higher quality). 20 is recommended as the lowest setting but my iPad so far has had no trouble handling 18. Going to try 16 next though you are reaching into the point of demising returns at the cost of larger file sizes.

i know what it is lol. i meant what is the actual percentage. 🙄 😉 😛

at those rates, even on a 64GB model you could only fix 4-5 movies on the ipad. 🙁

True, it's not very useful unless you only have a 1080p version and don't want to convert that one file just so that you can view it on the iPad. However, it suggests that it might be technically possible for Apple to enable 1080p output, but I'm not expecting them to do so.

good point 🙂 the device can definitely play it (within bitrate limits of course) - whether or not the USB has been designed to output that quality is another matter 🙁 which doesnt look promising.

About as much chance as seeing Flash.😀. Apple seems firmly against 1080 and a strong 720 supporter.
