Convert ANY video type to MP4... Best app?

Hi,

Wondering what is the Best app on MAC osx 10.6 to convert any to MP4...

No matter of it's paid or freeware...

bonus if it can do batch conversion by monitoring a folder off of a NAS and convert on the fly then dump to a completed folder.

I also have Linux Ubuntu if there's one on that platform.

Handbrake, which has a Queue option, and MPEG Streamclip, which has a Batch List, though both don't scan folders for new files to add to their Queue or Batch List. Maybe that can be accomplished via Automator or AppleScript.

I have had the best luck with Handbrake. Converts almost everything (only found one that I wouldn't do) I have needed for my AppleTV/iPhones/iPods.

MPEG StreamLine for sure ! Not the 'sexiest' app but a great one !

+1 for streamclip. That program has saved my bacon a few times.
