Convert DVDs to 720p

I am trying to convert all my DVDs to 720p. Do you know of a way or a program that does this? Please help.

Why would you want to do such a thing? All it would accomplish is a larger video file, no visual quality increase. Out of curiosity, why do you want to convert them to 720p, to watch on AppleTV? If that is the case just convert them in their native resolution with handbrake/medafork and let AppleTV upconvert the videos.

You'd probably have to 1) go buy a hddvd or 2) record it from hdtv from your cable box.

On the PC, you can use AviSynth to convert. Don't know about Mac.

Where would you get the extra pixels? 😛

You're wasting file space.

"transcode" will do it. It will also help to get you from 4:3 to 16:9 formats. Read the feature list on the link below.
