Hello All,

I have been running iOS 7.1 beta 2 on my iPhone, is there any way to make iTunes see the backup of 7.1 beta 2 as a backup for 7.0.4 so I can restore my phone to 7.0.4 and not lose my data?

Thanks.

First you must backup to iTunes, so that you have backup on your internal hard drive.

You can edit the info.plist file. Edit the build version to your ipsw's build version and product version to the version you want to downgrade to. Using plist editors in windows are highly recommended.

Windows: C:\Users[Your username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup[Your UDID]

Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/[Your UDID]/

After that just restore the backup normally. If an error popped up at the end, ignore it. Hope this helps.

So you set the build version to 7.0.4 or maybe it is build number.

Does it works also for sms? I'm thinking to downgrade from beta 3 to 7.0.4/5 but I can't lose sms
Thanks
