The downloaded .mod video from my Canon FS200 plays back squished, looking like widescreen is playing as 4:3. Using MacBook Pro Intel duo. Have checked forums and see that others report same problem, but I haven't found solution. Will be editing with FCE. Thanks for your suggestions.

I had a canon a while back. all i did was change the extension from mod to mov. See if that works.

Make sure your sequence settings are right - pixel aspect ratio, anamorphic squeeze, etc. Try changing sequence settings to Anamorphic 16:9.
