iPad Converting a 30 pin Apple iPad dock to a lightning one

I'm thinking about getting the iPad Air to replace my ipad 3. I love the Apple iPad dock and was wondering if anyone has converted it to a lightning one. I know I could just put the adapter on it, but i don't think it would be stable.
