Anyone know of a program that will allow me to take an avi/divx file and convert it to dvd so i can backup some old videos? Freeware would be preferred but i'm open for anything. Thanks in advance.

Visualhub is not supported any more and the developer has given up on it, so if you can pick up a free copy of it "somewhere" ;) it would do the job

Otherwise iDVD would do the job, but you might have to convert the file to mp4 beforehand (never tried, so I'm not sure

Visual Hub is amazing. Look into it. As it's open source now, it IS legal to torrent it.

It can do everything, yet it's still lightweight and really fast.

If you have iDVD, You can follow that:
1. Open iDVD
2. Click "Create New Project"
3. Save it.
4. Drag the video clip into iDVD.
5. If you don't want a menu, click View -> Show Map. Then, arrange the video clip before the menu, click it, click Advanced -> Loop.
6. Burn.
