Converting docx to doc

At school we use microsoft word 2007 i use office 2003 can somone explain how i can convert it?

i download a converter but it didnt work. thanks
 
I use Textedit to open up docx files (although this is only reportedly works with simple documents under 10.5 or later). From there I save as .doc
