Converting G5 to Intel

I just needed some numbers to give to the boss to show him that it wasn't worth upgrading. He didn't trust my judgment alone and wanted other people's opinions.

I'm quietly thankful for never being in this kind of situation with a PHB questioning my judgment. I think my head would have exploded on the spot! Much respect for keeping your cool and answering the question rigorously.

That Supercomputer is made out of G5s in that picture.

They switched to intel Macs when intel Macs became available.

VT recently built another cluster with intel Mac Pros.
