converting pictures?

I bought one of those digital picture frames as a present for someone. Now I want to convert the pictures to the appropriate aspect ratio and size.

What's the best way to do this kind of batch convert of files?

you can use automator to batch resize photos. And how are we supposed to know what the ratio/aspects are? The photo frame probably will display any photos, I highly doubt it matters what size they are.
