converting video files

i have a dvd sony handycam camera, and imovie doesn't support it. i was wondering if there's any program that can convert dvd format (VTS Folder) to mpeg or any format that imovie can use.

i believe ffmpegx will convert a video_ts folder to a DV file.

This will probably give you a better experience. A friend of mine has it and said it works good.

I thought that ffmpegx required you to get the QT MPEG2 playback component. I guess not. Anyway this one has more features I guess.
