Converting Wmv to dvd compatible formats????

Hey guys , i got loads of wmv files but keep being denied by idvd when trying to create a dvd. Anyone in the know how in this subject , your help will be much appreciated. I think i need to convert them to .avi or .mov , anyone know any programs????

I have converted WMV using QuickTime Pro and Flip4Mac's WMV Plugin.

There's no free program out. I think Flip4mac is the only way to do it on OS X.
