I just got a new iMac but it didn't come with World Book. I put all my passwords on Notepad that came with World Book, but no longer have the installation dicks that came with my old computer.

Any ideas on getting the info off the files without having to purchase the software?

I tried TextEdit plus a whole host of editors and such. No luck.

If you created a file with the passwords on it, then you should still have the file, saved, backed up or what ever. The disks won't help you there. At to Reinstalling the program on the new computer, if you don't have the disks, you might need to just purchase it again.

The alternative, is if the other computer was a Mac, and you did a backup with Time Machine, and use it to put it on the new computer. Other wise, no ideas.

Yes... I'll have to purchase the program. (Weep for me... :()

A Mac using friend with WorldBook installed might be able to help if you put the files onto a flash drive and take them over.
