No they aren't!!

You have been complaining off and on about this. I returned my 2.6/8/512 and bought the 2.6/16/512 two days later from the refurb store. I saw in another thread where you stated you got an email from that website telling you they were available and when you went there they were gone. They were up for at least an hour before they sold out.

Here is a tip seeing as you are having so much trouble with this. Check every 10 minutes between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. That is when they are always listed. Most times it's right around 12:00 noon; give or take. This has been their pattern for months.

Not sure what your seing or how you got yours because that's exactly what they are! If they weren't then the wouldn't sell so quickly. Actually most of the current models aren't that easy to get if you don't jump on them right away. I have been checking everday for the past week and exactly at those same hours assuming your on the east coast(adjusting for west coast or my time as I noticed a similar pattern via refurb.me stats) and either setting my browser to auto refresh or I manually refresh the page every minute. When that email came in from return.me I was already on apple refurb store checking for an hour before hand to that point and they were out of stock. At any rate I managed to get an order in yesterday however it didn't take as I didn't get a confirmation page or card charge placed probably 30 seconds after it showed at 9:03am. Even called apple to confirm later in the day. There was no record of the purchase on my account. Oh well off to try again today.

* edit speak of the devil one just popped up in my other window and I got the order to complete this time :D Now hopefully it goes through and a decent one when it arrives.

Still i wouldn't say they aren't hard to get though.

I know the feel. What do you use?

15" with the upgraded i7
i actully do need the quad core processor however, as i use mainstage a lot (live music performance software) and when youre doing live stuff you need a lot of overhead 'in case crap hits the fan'. for gopro video editing? not so much

that being said, i didnt need the extra $250 upgrade for the 200mhz

if i wasnt doing live stuff, and didnt need the quad core processor, id probably want a 13" for the reasons i noted.

plus the 13" is so much nicer to hold

What specs for the 13 do you recommend?

I upgraded form 13" MBA to 13" rMBP (8gb/256ssd) and the only draw back is the screen resolution. The MBP is basically 1280x800 and I do miss the extra resolution (1440x900) from the MBA although the screen is now much sharper. I don't mind paying the extra $ but I don't want the extra weight. No complain other than that. If you are ok with the screen resolution, I will definitely get the 13" and save the $.

Alright, you convinced me. With the money saved I'm ordering another surfboard.

in my opinion, a much better buy.
although if i were you id use the money to start a new hobby - depending where you live. have you ever tried white water rafting or do you ski?

some of my gopro footage from white water rafting are turning out incredible

I would buy a used 13" then save up for a brand new 15". I've had my 13" since 2010 and I still love it, but I wouldn't mind the extra 2" for movies and stuff.
