cool guitar amp settings?

If I'm not mistaken, no one has mentioned using the Griffin iMic ($35). You also need a guitar jack to mini-jack converter - like, $2, maybe - and then you go straight into a GB USB port with guitar, bass, whatever. My humbucker-equipped Peavey Odyssey makes really ill sounds that way.

While the GB guitar sound array disappointed me at first, I realized that little bits of tweaking this way and that will produce worthy variations. I like a fairly clean sound with a lot of compression.

You know, I have to agree with you. Although it is no Guitar Rig, the stock amp sounds have begun to grow on me a bit.

It's amazing what a little tone tweaking will do for ya.

i have one of those cheap ones, like that. do you think it would be worth getting the Monster Cable converter instead, or will there be much difference in sound quality? (Actually, since my Mic is propped up by a pillow and 'Shakey', the Neil Young biography, maybe i should get a mic holder first.

Oh, since going acoustic, i don't even use 'Improve Guitars' anymore - just a bit of reverb and i'm done!
