Does the book say how long they'd been working on it? For the new MBP touch bar, one of the engineers tweeted that they spent eight years from the initial idea.
 
I spent 200 and if you're familiar with fine printing/high end design books, it's a fair price.
I never said it wasn't? I actually have small amount of design books as Im a web designer and developer, and my partner also is a design jeweller.

It might, I haven't read it cover to cover yet. I do know from other interviews they started working on it around 2011.

No problem haha I actually feel quite tempted towards the smaller one :)
 
If you "get" the book (and it sounds like you do) the small book is worth it. And believe me, it is not "small" by any means! Very nice size and quite hefty.
It certainly is on my radar; waiting on my first Apple Watch I've owned to be delivered and then the book may be my next purchase to go along with my collection of design and art books I have :)
