It didn't do that before, in the sense of before Tiger... But it has done that since 10.4.0.

That works in almost any app in Tiger (I use it a lot in Safari and Adium).

Unfortunately, its one of those features I'll file somewhere at the back of my mind and the next time I need a definition I'll automatically hit google. Habits die hard.

I use it all the time. I actually think it's helped develop my slightly mediocre vocabulary a little.

I just did it over the word "Microsoft" in the advertisement above on this page, and Safari unexpectedly quit. I reopened and tried again, but no entries were found.
