I think I'm not the only one in love with the new copy and paste mechanism in the iPhone...however, has anyone noticed that when you try to C&P in the text messages you can only select the WHOLE message to copy? You can't just select parts of the message--which is usually the point if you want to copy down a phone number or an address in order to paste it into maps. With copying the whole message, you can only paste the entirety of it and then you have to delete the rest.

Could this be a bug? Otherwise if it isn't, it's truly one of the stupidest things Apple could have done. There is simply no logic behind being forced to only copy full text messages and not parts of it if one wants to.

i didnt notice that. however it can be solved :)

if you are wanting to save a phone number that someone has put in the text. i believe that phone numbers, emails, and address(not sure bout addresses) are highlighted blue and underlined and have an arrow which u can press to add the data to your contacts :)

if you would like to select a certain bit of text i think the best thing to do is just use the new forwarding feature (pressing edit then filling the circle beside the text) then copy and paste the part you want. it just involves using the new copy&paste/select all features :) look on the bright side...atleast u can copy & paste now. and wouldnt have to memorize/write down what the person said, and type it out yourself ;)

i don't find it much of a problem :)
but if it bugs you (sorry, no pun intended) then all i guess you can do is complain to apple and hope they fix it in an update.

i already have a few complaints bout 3.0 already >.<

There is another way round this. Slightly annoying but works, copy the text into "Notes" then copy and select the bit you want of the text.

Hope this helps
