iPhone Copy .app folder from ipa?

Since AppShopper is no longer available, it won't sync to my iPhone, but I still have the IPA. Can I just copy AppShopper.app from the ipa to /Applications/ where the system apps are stored and it will work fine?

Just use ifunbox to install the IPA

I had a similar problem with ifunbox installing an app on my iphone it kept failing no matter how many times i tried but then i upgraded my iphone and tried it again and it worked first time. maybe it dosnt support 5.1.1

Forgive my ignorance but what is the problem transferring via iTunes?
As long as you have the IPA, you can always sync it to the phone (unless it has a lower iOS version than the one required by the app, or it's an unsupported device for the app -which AFAIK, only works for trying to copy iPad only apps to iPhone/iPod).

It should only fail to update since it's no longer there, or is iTunes currently making the check now?

Imma try synching it (AppShopper) to two devices now, come back later.

Yup, it's working like it has worked since the beginning of times.
I was able to sync the app via iTunes to a couple devices that didn't contain it previously, one of them 5.1.x and the other 6.0.1.
No problem whatsoever, the one in 5.x jailbroken, the one in 6.x not jailbroken.

I am using Mountain Lion 10.8.2.

What error message do you get?
