can you guys copy messages at all?
for some reason my phone wont copy anything no matter how hard i press... weird

for example.. if i try to copy a message my friend sent.. it wont even give me an option to copy after you hold and press..

is this just me.. or are others experiencing the same issue?

issue solved.. you have to "lightly press" down on the message to get the 'copy' bubble to pop up. if you press down hard.. it wont show up at all..

So all you have really is a better camera. I'd hold off for the iPhone 7 if I were you.

I already own the phone. No going back now. I also have a phone with super fast GPU and CPU speeds and a good amount of ram though, so Im good with what I have

I was experiencing this also. Sometimes the copy option doesn't pop up even with a slight press. Another way of copying is just to double tap on the message.

You do it the same way it's always been done. By long press. 3D Touch has nothing to do with seeing the copy option on a message.

Because there aren't other worthwhile improvements, right?

I think if you're upgrading from the 6 to the 6s and you disable 3D Touch, it's not worth it. But it's a nice upgrade from the 5s.

For some the CPU/GPU and RAM improvements alone can be easily with it. And that's aside form a better camera, better TouchID, better metal for the phone, etc. Sure 3D Touch is a biggie, but it's not something that everyone might care for, at least not initially. Doesn't mean the other improvement can't be worthwhile to different people. Ultimately a personal decision that doesn't really have a right or wrong aspect to it.

True. But it does seem really silly to turn off THE biggest feature of the phone. Especially when it doesn't change how you've normally done things on older iPhones, it just adds new/more functions on top of all the old familiar inputs.

Seems like for some people it affects how some of their usual interactions are treated. If they are used to putting some force into their actions which now get treated differently. It'll require some muscle memory retraining which some will do but for those who perhaps don't see as much use from new 3D Touch elements for now might not want to deal with the difference just yet. It's kind of similar to TouchID and not everyone using it, at least not right away, but still getting benefits of an improved 5s phone where it was introduced.

come on C DM. The guy literally killed live photos, "peeking" and additional shortcuts for almost every app on the home screen by disabling 3D touch. All he has now is a faster iPhone 6 with a better camera.

Nothing wrong with that at all. 5s was mostly something along those lines if someone wasn't using TouchID (of which there are still plenty even today), and 4S was also similarly so for someone that doesn't care about Siri (as many don't even today). Plenty of people still upgraded to them and enjoyed the phones.

I've always lightly long pressed into text and got the option to copy.

The only thing left to do is to put the phone in power saving mode all the time and he has a 5S.

That can work fine for someone as well to gain even more battery life at the cost of perhaps not trading much in if most of the LPM changes won't have much of a noticeable effect for someone given their typical usage of the phone. Again, one of those YMMV type of personal things.

You seem to be online at the same time as me. Are you in Cali?
